The day was reserved for a visit and exposure to Metro Manila. Around 8:00 o’clock in the morning, everybody was on board the bus for a two-hour travel to the city. While travelling,  they recited the morning prayer led by Calvin Bugho, OFM, the delegate from the Custody of Southern Philippines. Arriving at San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City, it took the CIE participants another 10-minute walk or a tricycle ride to reach San Pedro Bautista Parish where they were warmly welcomed by the friars of the community with their guardian, Romeo Floralde, OFM, and some Secular Franciscans and Youfra. They had an hour of fruitful fraternal exchange as Franciscans before being ushered to lunch.

Past two o’clock in the afternoon, the delegates headed for the next stop. St. Francis Friary, an inserted community in Dagat-Dagatan in Navotas, where they were welcomed by the young friars and lay leaders in the area headed by Reu Galoy OFM, JPIC animator of the Philippine Province. The group was divided into two small groups as they went to their designated areas of exposire. They had brief contacts with people in streets and a couple of families inside their homes. The group then returned to the friary for refreshments and headed for the next stop, Intramuros.

With the help of a professional tour guide, the landmark, Fort Santiago, was appreciated for its historical value as former center of political power in the country beginning from the Spanish time until its destruction in the second world war. The visit had its light moments too when they had the chance to buy souvenir items and take a quick look inside the Manila Cathedral.

Their last stop was St. Anthony Shrine in Sampaloc, Manila, one of the most popular centers of devotion to St. Anthony of Padua. The place is also known by members of the Franciscan Family as the center of the Secular Franciscans and Youfra. The group joined the devotees in the anticipated Mass presided by one of the delegates, Russell Becker OFM

Around eight o’clock in the evening, they travelled back to Tagaytay City.
